While pursuing an engineering degree from Delhi Technical University, he started learning dance from Shiamak Davar in the same city. Then he started trying his luck in the film industry.

Once in an interview, he told his fans that he also joined the drama classes taught by Barry Johns. With time his focus shifted completely from engineering to dance and acting.

One of the earliest stints includes acting as a background dancer in the IIFA awards. He also joined Nadira Babbar’s Ekjute theater group in Mumbai and remained attached to it for over two and a half years.

Meanwhile, he got a break in the form of a Nestle Munch advertisement. This made him a known face in all over India in no time.

It was 2008 when he was signed by Balaji Telefilms where he got the lead role of Manav Deshmukh in Pavitra Rishta. Here he played the role of a mechanic. A mature and serious person who cares about family values.

This act played the role of stepping stone for him. It was his devotion and attention to detail that won the heart of his peers and audience alike.

Due to his acting and superb performance he won many accolades in this serial. Yet it is worth mentioning that his first drama was Kis Des Mein Nikal Hoga Chand, where he played a side role.

In 2010, he participated as a dancer in the reality show Zara Nachke Dikha season 2. Here, in addition to his acting, the not so much known dancing skills came to fore as well. With his performance, he won millions of hearts in no time as part of the Mast Kalandar Boys team.

On June 14th, 2020 Sushant Singh was found dead in his apartment in Bandra Mumbai. His body was hanging from the ceiling fan.
